That George W. Bush is the next Harry Truman?

Well, he's probably got nearly as many kills. I should have looked at the stats when I was making picks for my Fantasy Presidential team.

Yeah, and W. doesn't have any of that pesky civil rights stuff to bog him down, like desegregating the military.

I seriously doubt Bush would prevent MacArthur from nuking the North Koreans!

No, but history will be much kinder to W. than we have been. Haven't you heard?

Can't be the next Truman.

Truman had the balls and the sense uncork the nukes.

No, no, he really is the next Truman! He has to be -- I've been hearing the Republicans talk about it for days, now, so it must be true!

I've noticed all through the Republican Convention that they have often mentioned Democrats and tried to somehow make them their own.

One of the PBS commentators mentioned that McCain borrowed lines from acceptance speeches by Truman, Kennedy, and even Al Gore. The Republicans have also been pushing this idea that history will be kind to Bush just as it was to Truman and that, years later, he will be seen as one of the better presidents. I doubt that.
