May. 7th, 2008 01:44 pmIs it possible that Jimi Hendrix's Axis: Bold as Love is the best guitar record ever recorded? It has some of the most beautiful, sublime and soul stirring guitar work I have ever heard. It's the kind that seems to well up inside your chest and roll down your arms to the very tips of your fingers, making your shoulders tingle and your body ache. There are moments, like during "Bold as Love," that I just feel like crying at the sheer beauty.

Besides what appeals to me about punk is the emotion, the originality and the pushing of genre and boundaries and I like that in any type of music whether it be punk, jazz, classical, or just plain rock. I still think Axis: Bold as Love is the best guitar record ever recorded. It's absolutely beautiful.
