Sox Threaten Japan Boycott
Upon learning that coaches and staff who were to accompany the team to Japan to play the Oakland Athletics for opening day would not be compensated for the trip, the Red Sox players unanimously voted to not play in today's exhibition game against the Blue Jays or make their scheduled trip to Japan. The players were initially not on the field for the start of the Blue Jays game but have since begun play which has led to the speculation that a resolution has been reached.
