Why does anyone think clowns are scary?

I mean, wouldn't you get all warm and happy if you saw him dancing in your backyard?

I think that dancing in my backyard would call for the quick and decisive application of a shotgun. Yeah, clowns still freak me out, and I'm 43-years old.
