My god, I hate the Yankees

From today's Boston Globe:

Hank Steinbrenner was asked about the popularity of Red Sox Nation and said, "The Red Sox can have their Nation, the Yankees have the universe."

Who else but but a Yankee could say something so absolutely and ridiculously self-aggrandizing and pompous?  It sounds like Hank's trying to out-George his father.

No, Steinbrenner -- his sons have taken over the team now since George appears to be on his last legs. Last week Hank went after Torre when Torre called the one year contract offer an insult. Hank shot back that before his dad hired Torre, Torre was considered a joke.

The Steinbrenner Boys are going to be worse than their father ever dreamed of being. (Like Dubya is far worse than his father - who wasn't so hot himself)

Guess I'm in a political rant mode today.
