[livejournal.com profile] haddayr and I just came back from taking the boys to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua. No, it isn't as bad as it looked in the ads. It's worse. Still, it's probably the only kids movie you'll see with a reference to Scarface. And the kids liked the movie, which is why we went to see it in the first place. On the way into the theater, though, I saw something I just can't explain -- a group of perfectly normal, sane-looking adults buying tickets for Beverly Hills Chihuahua without kids. What kind of person goes and does a thing like that?

Heh! I have never even seen a preview for _Beverly Hills Chihuahua_. It is possible it didn't make it out here?

Pardon the lame question, but how old were your kids when you started taking them to movies? Right now it's hard to imagine mine sitting through an entire movie, but I'm looking forward to it (foolishly, probably).

Believe it or not, when it opened back in October, Beverly Hills Chihuahua was the number one movie in the country. Go figure.

I think I took Arie to an Imax film when he was three but I kind of remember Éiden being two when we first took him to a movie (it may have been Happy Feet. Believe it or not, when the lights go down, most kids will actually sit (especially if they have a huge tub of popcorn sitting on their lap that they guard with their lives like Éiden usualy does).

I was also pretty excited to take the boys to the movies for the first time. I still remember going to the movies when I was a kid with fondness.
