This morning while jogging through the park I passed a gaggle of about sixty migrating Canada geese. As if with one mind, each one turned its head at the exact same moment, glaring at me with their malicious, beady eyes. For a moment I considered running a little faster but thought that might upset them so I maintained my pace watching them out of the corner of my mind. I felt a little like Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren at the end of The Birds.

I have done this on my bike, over on West River Road!

Well, in a Haddayr fashion, which involved charging them and shrieking at the top of my lungs, waving my arms and legs.

But it was all for the same reasons.

If I could have, I probably would have done the same.

When you're up on a bike and you can't really slow down as you're going downhill and you figure you could tuck your legs up if they attack and you're also armed with crutches, it's easier to take the more assaultive approach.

And also when you're me.

I agree, a flock could totally take a human down, and know it.

There are few things more frightening than large groups of angry looking geese.
