Dude, the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004 and 2007. What's to complain about? Nobody else has done better in the last 5 years. The Yankees are the only team to get more Series wins in the last 15 years, and they haven't won since 2000. So your Sox are doing fine. I'm sure sports fans from all the other teams but the Yankees would gladly trade your 2009 misery plus the '04 and '07 titles for their teams' mediocrity. Anyway, knowing the Red Sox, they'll probably win the next 3.
It doesn't matter if they've won recently, they still played like crap (and seriously, they've only won once on my birthday). My feeling is that if they play well but still lose, I'm pretty much okay with that. If, on the other hand, they only score one run over eighteen innings, there's something wrong.
