Is this possibly the worst television show ever aired?

In case you're unfamiliar with it, the show aired in syndication during the mid to late 80's and was about a guy who builds a robot girl who he tries to pass off as his real daughter.

I had a six year old step-brother at the time who was obsessed with the show, though I had no idea why. Over twenty years later, though, I still sometimes get that stupid theme song stuck in my head.

omg! I used to watch that show! Haven't thought of it for years

It's one of those shows that every time I saw it, I wondered, how did this ever get on television? The production was just awful, and the acting, which doesn't really show up in the opening, was atrocious. Then there was how at least once an episode the show's makers would have the robot girl do something at super-speed because it was the one special effect they could do cheap.

Right! I remember the super speed! man, those were the days ...

The days of Small Wonder followed by She's the Sheriff and back to back episodes of Too Close For Comfort.

(Did I mention I spent way too much time watching really bad television?)

She should irreparably crush the boy's hand when she shakes it.

And then wink while the rest of the family laughs with their arms akimbo.

hahahaha! I went to art school with a guy who carried a picture of Harriet around in his wallet. "I'm totally in love with this girl!" he'd exclaim.

I don't think I ever asked him if he loved Harriet or the actress who played her. Some answers, I don't want.

That is horrifying.

Did you know that the girl who played her actually won two Young Artist Awards?

No.

What was that about horrifying again?
