Hey, what Obama says makes a lot of sense to me and, intellectually, he seems like the right choice.  Ah, but what the hell, I'm no elite intellectual.  I've just got a "feeling" about John McCain.  My god, people make me sick.

(and you know what?  If McCain gets elected, people like David Scorup are going to be bitching and moaning that the country's headed in the wrong direction and crying, "How did it ever get to be like this?" just like the morons who voted for Bush are now)

Especially after your "Obama is a Muslim" post, I found myself losing faith in an all-inclusive democratic process without, for example, a basic intelligence test. (But "intelligence" is invariably a subjective measure, and what would be the implications if you found you were biased to systematically disenfranchise a particular political leaning? Or worse (!), given the extreme subjectivity of the test, against a particular gender or race or other cultural minority?)

But, oh, yes, this is how I can continue to retain my faith in an all-inclusive democratic process: These people, they wanted it, and they deserve what they get.

pity about the rest of us, though.

If only there were some way to segregate ourselves from them. Perhaps we should all move to Alaska and take Palin's husband up on his and his party's desire to secede from the union.
