This is a link to a band called Hooper Piccalero.  The trombonist is Matt Plummer who used to date my sister-in-law and who haddayr  still keeps in touch with.  The band was just reviewed on WFMU's Beware the Blog.  I don't know if this is the same band of Matt's that I'd heard before, but whether they are or not, they are awesome. They play really odd, free-wheeling jazz, the kind that would make Captain Beefheart jealous.  Their song, "What the Fuck" rivals anything the Butthole Surfers ever put out, and I mean that as the sincerest form of flattery.  At the very list, give that song a listen.  Good stuff -- you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the link! I love WFMU's blog... total weirdness. I listened to WTF, and I appreciate! but it's not really my cuppa... Meanwhile, I found it amusing that the previous MP3 entry "Money Well Spent" is about some tunes put out on "J-Rad Records" .... hmmmmmm :-)
