The plane was thrown from the 31st floor and, after soaring out over Manhattan, proceeds to circle lower and lower to the ground. It's really quite beautiful, both in the circling of the airplane and the way it was filmed.

I love how after it lands, the camera slowly pulls back as that person walks by without even noticing it.

I never saw that but I did see Koyaanisquatsi, which I've heard is similar, and you're right, it does have that same feeling.

Because throwing stuff out a window in New York is fun?

Yes it is. I didn't think windows opened that high.

I loved that the airplane was made the same way Grandpa taught me how to make one when I was a little kid. And the way the wind currents carried the plane around and around until it finally glided to a landing in the street (where it DIDN'T get immediately run over by traffic) was just fascinating. It reminded me of how when we were children, my cousins and I would be at my grandmother's and we would throw handsful of the "propellers" from her big maple tree off the second floor porch and watch the way they spun to earth. (Kids back then were so easily amused.)

It is pretty neat that the plane doesn't get squashed by anyone or anything.
