(or maybe not)

We're leaving tomorrow for North Carolina to drop [livejournal.com profile] haddayr off at Sycamore Hill and then the boys and I are on to Aiken, SC to see my dad and half-sister.  We've got a dual screen DVD player from Target (on sale for $129) to help entertain the boys, still, it's three days in a small enclosed space with a three year old and an Aspie.  We'll see how it goes.

The other night I dreamt that it was Monday and we were leaving for a trip to Germany the next day.  The house was a mess, no one was set to take care of the pets, nothing was packed, and we were not in the process of taking care of any of those things, yet we had to leave the next day (I don't even know if we had passports for the kids -- I don't think we did).  I never have anxiety dreams about travel and I'm never anxious about impending journeys (at least until now).  Haddayr, however, is, and she has infected me with her anxiety, if that's possible.  Not only does she tell me she's not as anxious as usual about the travel, she also had a dream the same night about flying with her family to Germany.  In that dream, it was half an hour until the plane was leaving and nothing was packed and no one seemed at all concerned about this.  When they arrived at the airport to find the plane had left without them, Haddayr's mother was outraged and tried to talk the airline into bringing the plane back.  Ahh, anxious dreams of travel.  Gotta love 'em.

What's up with the shared-dream trips to Germany? That's wild.

Have a safe trip, and damn, I love that icon!

P.S. North Carolina is nothing like Germany.

Thanks -- it was strange to both have those dreams.

(Segar is one of my favorites -- it's a shame more people know Popeye for the cartoon than the comic strip)

ACtually -- I was talking about the icon of the kid on santa's lap, screaming (for this entry).

Also, the title of this entry cracks me up, big time.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I used that one -- glad you liked it.

Good luck! When our kids were those ages we basically didn't go anywhere farther than a supermarket! Course, we didn't have a dual-screen dvd player, which might have done the trick.

Are We There Yet?

I'm late to the party, but here's to hoping the trip is going well and the anxiety dreams were for naught!

It went pretty well -- the way back was a lot better as the air conditioning was fixed in South Carolina (hot and stuffy on the way down, though).
