You want to know what's bad for business?  A recession.  And inflation.  And a weakening dollar.  And rising gas prices.  And a war that isn't ending.  And unemployment.  Did I forget anything?

A rotting infrastructure. A housing crisis. Idiotic responses to natural disasters. Natural disasters which keep getting worse and worse as the planet heats up.

And Fundamentalist Christians. Oh, wait. They're not bad for business. They're just bad.

An ethanol push that feeds agribusiness and starves poor, working class people and entire populations in the sub Sahara. Spiraling food prices that spur riots across the planet. Unchecked speculation on oil futures. Undertaxed/untaxed windfalls for oil companies paid for by the middle class. [deep breath] Saber rattling with Iran. No sustainable energy policy. Talk of sending the Vikings to LA! Prince turning 50! My stupid family!

Can the Republicans be blamed for your stupid family?

Wait. They can be blamed for mine. Hmmmmm.

I stand firm on their innocence in this whole sordid Prince affair, however.

Oh, the Republicans are entirely to blame for my stupid family.

Wait. Upon further review, my stupid family may to be blame for the Republicans!

In which case, I offer America my categorical apology.

Well, as Haddayr can attest, my grandparents share in that blame.

Your grandmother, who actually donated money to Bush's 2004 campaign, not once but TWICE, had been a fan of Barack Obama's since she saw his speech at the 2004 convention. She - are you ready? Was going to vote for him. That is, until the issue with Rev. Wright came up. Now she says she won't vote for Obama - but she hates McCain as well.

Your grandfather still gets angry and yells whenever anything political comes up - except that he stays VERY quiet when Grandma says she likes the way Obama talks. We know who the real boss in that household is, don't we?

Did I just fall into some alternate reality? That seems almost unfathomable. (It certainly gives me some hope for the November election, though)

You forgot people going to Canada for abortions. Unless he's counting on tax revenue from them using American transportation suppliers or something.
