Still, ya gotta love them Philly fans. After the PA announcer introduced Sarah Palin as "the best-known Hockey Mom in the United States" Flyers' fans responded with nearly deafening boos that rained down on upon the VP candidate as she walked onto the ice. Here's the video:

And that, in spite of the fact that she (by her own admission) had dressed her young daughter Piper in a Flyer's jersey in hopes of discouraging the boos. In all fairness, observers actually at the arena said there was about an equal mix of cheers and boos - but the sound system was cranked REALLY loud to try to drown out the crowd altogether.

Now I, had I been there, would have been among the boo-birds.

I don't think Philly fans care if you've got a kid with you. If I remember right, they've booed kids in the past just as lustily as they've booed adults.
