Today is the first day of Arie's new meds
Aug. 12th, 2008 01:10 pmSo far, he's doing really well. He seems a lot calmer and more focused than he was earlier (even before we took him off his last meds). I actually have not counted a single one of his behaviors (as in using the 1-2-3 Magic method of discipline; in Arie's terminology, not getting to a one means that it is a "sooper-dooper day") It's not perfect -- he started to get all pissy because his brother made a statement that wasn't 100% accurate in Arie's view and he held onto the pissiness for a good five minutes. Still, he didn't shout and he didn't lift his fist up and threaten me with it, which is an enormous change for the better.
I really hope that this new stuff helps. I'm confident that we'll eventually find something that works but I really hope that that something isn't several months or more down the road. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the right med.
