Today is Éiden's first day of kindergarten

We said goodbye and left, watching him confidently build, and Haddayr started to cry. I didn't, and I thought I was fine. Until I went grocery shopping shortly after and watched all the moms pushing their carts through the aisles with their preschoolers, and I suddenly and fiercely missed my little shopping partner and all our silly jokes as I fully realized that a special part of our lives is over.

The St. Paul bus driver's union refuses to try to pick up kids during the horrible constant traffic jam that is the fair, and I don't blame them.
Towns around the area just sort of follow St. Paul on this, but this year Labor Day was so late that Minneapolis bucked the trend.
