The DVD re-release of Psychos in Love (due out sometime this month) got a decent review in Fangoria.

It always makes me happy that people still remember and appreciate it some twenty-plus years later.

I watched the trailer recently on youtube in hopes of seeing Blood Pumper No. 2 (It was No. 2, non?) Obviously no such luck. I'm not sure I have the stomach for this movie in all its full glory. Maybe you can tell me where to queue it up?

I'm always confusing this with PSYCHO SISTERS--neither of which I've seen--but I always remember you worked on one of them!

No, I was the Blood Pumper (my friend, who was the Assistant Blood Pumper, and I actually got into a huge fight over who got the role since it had more lines). I'm not in the trailer, just the movie at the very end (maybe 83 or 84 minutes along?). This is the official website which has stills from the set (I'm only in one of them, but there's a nice shot of Eric Lutes -- from Caroline in the City with a nail file stuck in his hand):

Yeah -- I was pretty geeked out the first time I saw it.

I've never seen Psycho Sisters, but I have to say, for what it is, Psychos in Love isn't that bad (which I can't say about the other two films we did) and, if you like the B-movie genre, is worth watching. It has a lot of really dumb jokes and a lot of blood (with fairly decent effects for the budget we had).

"One of the odder extras is PSYCHOS IN LOVE: The Stageplay, providing highlights from Rob Matsushita’s adaptation of the film, which ran for six weeks in 2003 at Stuart Gordon’s Broom Street Theater in Madison, Wisconsin."

Aaaargh! How did I miss that? Or, wait, was it good that I missed that? I feel at least someone ought to have represented there and reported back to you.

I actually went to go see it, and it was pretty good! Most surprising, though, was that, also in attendance, were two girls from Boston who flew all the way to Madison just to see the play because one of them was such a big fan of the movie.

Jan forgot to mention in his comment below that the fan girls SQUEED when they saw Jan and recognized him as the Blood Pumper (a role that lasted roughly 5 seconds) and got their photos taken with him.

I AM NOT KIDDING
