She did not blink or hesitate to say yes when the McCain campaign asked her to be on their ticket.

Now there's a reason to vote for her.  And, as that comes from her interview with softball journalist Chuck Gibson, I'm expecting her interview was pretty substance free.

The first concern about her judgment, really, is that she agreed to stand up for a position for which she is so utterly unqualified.

Exactly. But her point is that the president should act immediately, essentially without thinking and I find that incredibly disturbing especially how it came on the heels of her saying that the U.S. should go to war with Russia if it invaded another country, that we will not repeat another Cold War. That she said that after being prepped by the McCain camp for days says that this is their thinking as well, not just her speaking off the cuff. That makes me even more scared than ever about a McCain presidency.

A lightning-fast decision is great when the question is "Chips or fries?" or "Where should we go for dinner?" but I don't see why someone would be proud of having made a spur-of-the-moment decision about something so important.

Yes, and it was that "don't blink" decision making that got us into this mess. I really think, though, that the McCain strategy is to have a continual war going on, for whatever reason. Seriously, that seems to be the only solution he has to any international disputes (or at least the first solution). When I heard her say the war with Russia was a possibility, I felt a preternatural chill run down my spine. Those two in the White House scare the fuck out of me.
