Sonia Pitt, fired MnDOT director and recent recipient of a $90K a year job with Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration, has been once again fired.  According to the article, she was hired just two days after being dismissed by MnDOT.  Two weeks ago, after being on the job for two months, her new employer finally got around to doing a background check.  Based on the 25 page arbitrator's ruling which upheld her firing in May, the TSA decided perhaps they did want her working for them anymore.  In addition to her most recent firing, Pitt may also face criminal charges for taking an unauthorized state-paid trip and billing the state for over 94 hours of personal phone calls.  Yay for justice!

Here's an interesting little detail: "Until she was fired, Pitt served as director of the MnDOT's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management."

So, Homeland Security didn't know the background of a person who was fired from a position they oversaw? Right.

Also: "Although Pitt was married in 1994 and still lists her address at her husband's Red Wing home, MnDOT's internal investigation turned up evidence of a personal relationship with a Federal Highway Administration transportation security liaison based in Washington."

I'm thinking some powerful Republican contractor got his girlfriend a job.

You know what would make the world perfect?

If women ran everything. They're so wise and loving and spiritual and awesome and just all around superior to us corrupt, filthy bedicked monsters.

Considering the TSA fired her a day after our local paper reported that she was working for them, my initial thought was that they had no intention of firing her until they found out that the media was looking into the circumstances of her new job. Seriously, how many companies hire someone without a background check first, especially a government agency like Homeland Security. I think you're right about her connections.

Plus they bleed for days every month and don't die. Which makes them superheroes.
