Maine, though, has the excuse of being "rural." We live right in the city, just a mile or so outside of downtown Minneapolis and one of the mail carriers just doesn't deliver mail if it's too hot or raining or snowing (or maybe because he/she doesn't feel like it). Out of the three places we've lived in Mpls, this is the only one where we don't get mail on a regular basis.
Haddayr and I once had our car attacked in front of Hosmer library coming home from a movie (a group of teens started throwing bottles at the car then one of the kids tried to open the door and finally the whole group tried going for the car until I ran the light). When we got home, minutes after, I called 911. The woman's response was "How do you know? You're not calling from that address."
