That fucking puggle must die.  Seriously.

What is a puggle?

[identity profile] janradder.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
It is a designer breed of dog -- half pug, half beagle. Because it is half beagle, it has that horrible beagle baying/moaning/yapping bark. And, like beagles are known to do (because they were bred to do it) the dog barks non-stop. At nothing. At all. For as long as its owner leaves it outside. Which can be a very long time. She lives right next door to us and stands at the fence between our yard and hers and just barks into our yard at the tree or the grass or the fence or whatever (she doesn't pause between barks, either). I really can't stand that dog.

It sounds terrible! I would go crazy listening to that!

Yeah -- it's a young dog too and they tend to live for twenty years or so. Unfortunately, we're stuck with her.

Oh! I have a stuffed animal called a puggle, that was All The Rage in my third-grade class, back in the day. I'm still annoyed that there's a yappy dog called a puggle.

It's not that I'm against puggles per se...

Try throwing it a rawhide chew or a ball. It's probably just a lonely young pup.

That's unfortunate -- puggles (the dogs) really are a pox on our house.

There are certain breeds of dog that should never have been introduced, the puggle being one of them -- the worst of a pug? The worst of a beagle? Seriously, what were they thinking?

[identity profile] janradder.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately it's two years old now and it is not lonely. The dog barks like that even when its owner is out with it -- that's just what the breed is known for doing. The worst part is that the owner has one of those anti-bark collars that is actually effective, but only uses it when the dog is in the house.

Yeah; we used to stuff her with treats and try to give her attention. She would bark steadily while getting the attention, and only pause briefly in the barking to eat the treat.

It's that baying beagles are bred for, but she's not as smart as a beagle, nor does she have the nose, so she doesn't realize you're only supposed to bark like that when you've scented something.

Horrible, horrible combination of attributes.
