Today we watched an episode of Challenge of the Superfriends where the Legion of Doom finds a crystal and set about killing each of the Superfriends, one by one. Éiden sat calmly and watched as first Batman and then Wonder Woman were both knocked off, but when Lex Luthor used the crystal to kill Superman, he burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably. I picked him up and held him and tried to make him feel better by reminding him that the Superfriends always beat the Legion of Doom but it didn't help. His poor, big heart was broken. He felt better at the end, though, when the Superfriends did, in fact, defeat the Legion. Seeing Superman return, a huge grin spread across his face -- his hero had returned.

Éiden totally got the crying gene from me. I cry at just about everything.

Heartwarming story.

I hope that a fact of life for Eiden from here on out is that Superman always returns.

Good work, Dad.

Éiden is our soft-hearted boy. He, like me, cries at many things very easily. He was given that BBC show, Walking With Dinosaurs for Christmas because he loves dinosaurs so much but, after the first episode, he didn't want to see anymore because he cried each time one of them died.

For the teaser trailers I just filmed--SPOILER WARNING!--a gal lops off Slimeguy's head (totally off screen). Kaelin says, "Slime City boo-boo!"

That's cute. I think Éiden would just hide his head and sob.
